Olive oil is a basic ingredient in our menu. We like to use it for frying and add it to salads or snacks. Most of us have it at home but are we aware of its benefits for beauty? There are at least 5 reasons why we should start using olive oil on our body, face and hair. Read our post if you want to know them.
1. Olive oil on hair
Olive oil is a great hair oil treatment. You can mix it with other oils but it will give you remarkable effects when used solo too. It can be applied on wet or dry hair.
Why should we use olive oil on hair?
First of all, it is one of the one-size-fits-all oils which work perfectly regardless of the porosity of your hair. It is amazing for moisturizing the hair and preventing frizz. The lovely gloss and smoothness are guaranteed!
2. Olive oil on face
a) Scrub
DIY scrubs are growing in popularity because they’re cheap and take little time. Olive oil is an essential ingredient in a homemade scrub. Take a look at some ideal blends:
olive oil + sugar
olive oil + salt + a few drops of essential oils
Why are such scrubs worthwhile?
They focus on exfoliating dead cells to expose smoother, softer skin.
b) Anti-zit agent
You need to mix a few drops of olive oil and tea tree oil. Soak a cotton pad in the blend and use it topically on blemishes twice a day.
How will this mixture help you?
Tea tree oil is amazing for drying all kinds of blemishes while olive oil soothes and moisturizes the skin.
3. Olive oil on body
a) Body care products rich in olive oil
Currently there are lots of products that contain olive oil, mostly lotions and creams.
Why do they make a good choice?
Thanks to the addition of olive oil, they will deeply moisturize your skin.
b) Olive oil bath
Nevertheless, an olive oil bath is a hit! We recommend adding from 3 to 5 spoons of oil to the water. The bath should take 30 minutes tops. There’s no need to rinse the body afterwards.
Why is this bath a good idea?
Firstly, your body will be perfectly moisturized and soft. There’s more to it, though! Besides that, it will strengthen your nails and prime the skin for next treatments, for example exfoliation.
